The Natural History of Hopkins (Adder) Pond, NH

Hopkins Pond is part of Proctor Academy's 2,500 acre campus in Andover, New Hampshire that is jointly managed by Proctor and The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. The pond area is open to the public for non-motorized boat travel, fishing and hiking.

This is a collective data base of natural history observations made by the students, staff and faculty of Proctor Academy and local community members who visit the the pond. The intention of this site is to gather information and observations over an extended period of time in order to better understand and appreciate this rich resource. It will also be helpful to record seasonal observations and changes in species, so the affects of climate change may be noted over time.

There are ongoing species lists as well as a calendar of "Field Notes." Please contribute your observations!
